A Slower Stay by the Coast (With Surfing on Your Doorstep)
North Devon has a way of simplifying things.
You arrive, unpack, and within a few hours you’re already moving at a different pace. Less rushing, more time outside, and a lot more fresh air than most people are used to.
That’s exactly what we’ve tried to keep at Livit Adventures — somewhere that feels easy to settle into, whether you’re here for a weekend or a full week.
Stay Close to It All, Without Feeling Busy
We’re based just outside some of North Devon’s best beaches, which means you can spend your days by the sea and your evenings somewhere quiet.
Our setup is simple: comfortable glamping tents, space to spread out, and a laid-back atmosphere. Nothing overcomplicated — just a good base for getting outdoors and enjoying the area properly.
It works well for couples, families, and groups who want a mix of activity and downtime without feeling like they’re stuck in a crowded holiday park.
Surfing, Made Easy
One of the biggest reasons people come here is the surf — and being close to it makes a big difference.
We run our own on-site surf school, Westward Waves Surf School, so if you’ve ever thought about giving surfing a go (or improving), it’s all set up for you.
No need to search around or organise separate bookings — you can sort everything through us.
Lessons are run at Westward Ho!, one of the most consistent and beginner-friendly beaches in the area. It’s ideal if you’re starting out, but still good fun if you’ve surfed before and want to build confidence.
We keep things straightforward: small groups, experienced instructors, and a focus on actually getting you up and riding waves.
More Than Just Surfing
Even if surfing’s not your main plan, there’s plenty to fill your days.
The coastline here is what really makes the area. You’ve got long sandy beaches, coastal paths, and plenty of space to explore without feeling crowded — even in the busier months.
The South West Coast Path is right nearby, with routes that work just as well for a short walk as they do for a full day out.
Or you can keep it simple — beach days, swimming, paddleboarding, or just finding a good spot and staying there for a few hours.
Evenings at Camp
Evenings tend to fall into a pretty easy rhythm.
People cook, sit outside, and wind down properly. On certain nights we run pizza evenings, which have become a bit of a regular thing — good food, no pressure, and a chance to chat to other guests if you feel like it.
Or you can just keep to yourselves and enjoy a quieter night. It’s up to you.
An Established Spot That’s Kept Its Feel
Livit Adventures has been around for a while, and a lot of our guests come back year after year.
Since taking over, we’ve focused on keeping what people already liked about the place — a relaxed atmosphere, friendly setup, and a good balance between doing things and switching off.
It’s not about overloading your schedule. It’s about having the option to do things, with the space to not do them too.
Planning Your Stay
If you’re looking for glamping in North Devon, with easy access to the beach and the chance to surf while you’re here, Livit Adventures is a solid base.
Having Westward Waves Surf School on-site makes it easy to build surfing into your stay without it becoming a hassle — whether that’s a one-off lesson or something you do a few times during your trip.
Most people come for a couple of days and end up wishing they’d booked longer. It’s just that kind of place.
